vf30 with stock fueling

I just upgraded to a vf30 on my 02 wagon. I have the vishnu stage 0 plus turbo back exhaust, but I haven't upgraded the injectors yet, so I'm running at around 10 psi to prevent leaning out. I'm wondering if this is conservative enough boost level for this setup. It's temporary until I scare up some cash for injectors.

*bump*

I'd also like to know the solution to this perdicament. I"m sure i'll also do the same but maybe with some extra exhaust and suspension mods but i dont wanna mess up my car inbetween the time i get my NEW turbo and when i can get all the other fuel mods.

vishnu tunes the ecu for your mods, right? when you get new mods you send it back to them? if this is true, have you done this? and im assuming you're using a MBC also? the stock turbo goes up to 13.5 psi so i think 10 should be ok till you get better injectors...someone please correct me if i am wrong...

You want to stay at 12psi or below. The lower the better, just to be safe. If you're going to buy injectors, might as well buy some fuel rails while you're at it. Also, make sure you have a good fuel pump too. Make sure to break the turbo in too. Just don't go boosting right away. Also, make sure to cool it down properly or have your turbo timer do it. Good luck.

with modern turbos you dont need to cool them down...oil runs through it until it is cool(something like that)....id personally go with a walbro fuel pump, STi 550cc injectors, and perrin fuel rails

thanks for the input. Yes I will be buying the injectors and fuel rail kit, but I will not install the stage 2 fuel map on the unichip until I have these parts. Yes I do have a mbc

If you're at Vishnu stage 0 right now, you might as well take out your Unichip, put in your bypass connector and send it in right away for reprogramming. Mine took 2 weeks from the time I sent it out until I received it. It's pretty good turnaround (1 week for the work and 1 week for shipping to and from). But after putting in injectors and rails (the pump was no work at all), you'll want reap the benefits from it right away. Plus, you won't be able to drive the car very far without engine management (for the new injectors).

Get that Unichip reprogrammed ASAP. Plus, if you got about $120 laying around, you can always buy a used Unichip to send in for reprogramming.

Good Luck.

Hi there...

You will be just fine running around on your VF30 without your fueling provided that you keep the boost in check. I have known many customers to even run on stock boost (ie: 14.5) for extended periods of time prior to getting their chip remapped and without fuel pump and injectors.

In general you do not have anything to worry about, but the more conservative on the boost you go the safer you are.

You just have to keep in mind that you are not getting nearly the power out of your turbo that you will be able to capture once you get the right supporting mods.

I hope this helps...

BTW, we have an absolutely rawking price on the Fuel Rails right now. Let me know if you are interested.
