I run stage 4 on turbo XS. Here is my understanding of this forever-ongoing battle of EMC tuners/flashers/piggy backers. First off, both companies make great products out of the box. "Hard" is not what I would call installing the turbo XS unit or reflash they take at most 45 min and most of that is getting the connectors out of the stock EMC. Many people believe that the turbo XS unit has a more aggressive map out of the box and make more power then the Vishnu tuned unit. On the other hand they claim that because of this the turbo XS unit power band is not as smooth Vishnu’s. I myself have driven both and really don't see any differences. Whichever way you have decides to go there is a TON of information on both these to units. I would suggest that which ever you go with that you get a custom dyno and that a road tune to work out any kinks because the base maps that come from the companies are not meant for specific exhaust and downpipes. This many cost some cash but you and your car will be happier. I had my stage 4 tuned and in puts down 289whp with stock top mount and it is smooth. Hope this helps do a search you are the elevendith million person to ask this question

The TXS Utec is a decent piece...if you urself know and like to tune. Since it is just a piggy back...the stock ECU will still have control and will eventually start to change the numbers back to the stock settings. This happened on my friends 02. Thankfully we cought it in time and were able to keep it from blowing the motor since it had leaned out so much. So if you are a serious tuner and are always at the track and are willing to tinker with it weekly...the UTec is fine. The EcuTek is a bit different. Since it is a complete reflash, the ECU will not start changing things around and you probably, I say probably because there is no sore sure meathod, wont have much to worry about. People have killed their motors with both...but usually with the EcuTek, its the tuning. So it really depends on what you want out of the car and what you are planning on using it for. All my friends have opted for the EcuTek...mainly through I-Speed, but Vishnu will do just as good of a job, and generally Ive heard that the EcuTek yields more safe, reliable power...but that is if you are not tuning the UTec every other day. Hope that helps.
