Which Upipe/exhaust?
Ok. i should have asked kevin (BAN SUVS) at the last meet we had because he brought it up. I'm looking to buy a Cat Back exhaust and an up-pipe. Im interested in the Cobb system because im thinking of getting a Access Reflash after im done doing my mods for my personal taste. But want everyone's input on which i should get. i want performance and something that's not too loud but sounds very aggresive still. And finally, where can i get them. i would rather buy from a local shop like Gruppe-s because i get impatient and like their delivery services. thanks, eric
Also. are they easy to install? or do i need to weld? and will the syetem pass smog?
once again thanks

you should go with cobb's set up as far as exhaust and for a catback system no welding is needed. i have heard it is not too loud and desent gains. as far as uppipe i would gut the stock one on your car and save your self a good amount of $ . plus it looks like you live in ca and if thoes pesky porkers pull you over and look under your hood you want every thing to look as close to stock as you can have it. trust me its a pain in the as... when you get pulled over and cited with a stack of fixit tickets. you can also gutt your down pipe for added hp. plus if your going to gut the uppipe you might as well do the downpipe as well. now as far as smog i to live in cali and i have heard that if you just replace your stock cat back when its time to smog you will be fine. as long as you dont remove the cat the follows your stock downpipe. an after market downpipe and uppipe should not be a problem. also an other big plus of gutting your up and downpipe is that it will pass the visual inspection, administered by the smog people. many of my friends have failed a smog check that way. oh yes and the other peice of advice. if your going to switch out or gut your uppipe you will need the uppipe resister mod (just run a search), cuz limping home is a bitc... good luck.. peace

i've been looking at Cobb's Access ECU upgrade, and it'll work with basically any cat back you'd want to put on the car. i'm going to be buying an exhaust in the next few months probably, and i'm pretty sure it's going to be a ScoobySport. they're reputed to make good power, they meet the dBA levels for CA law, and they're not obnoxious in appearance. oh yeah, and they're a complete bolt on like most exhausts.
