Question Upgraded intercooler?

Hey guys it's been a minute since i've been on here but you've been very helpful in the past so lets give it a shot.

I recently purchased a Godspeed TMIC with the intent of bolting it on and running it in place of my stock tmic. I had run the car tuned with these few performance modifications: full 3" exhaust/upipe/Grimmspeed BCS/ as well as a vf39 i pulled from a sti. These are all run on my 2004 Automatic Transmission WRX. My concern is that i'll have to get my car re-tuned or sell the upgraded tmic as i've noticed the 18lbs of boost i was pushing wot is now peaking at 14 lbs.

Anyone have thoughts on what should be done? I was considering swapping from short ram to cold air in the near future and then tuning it afterwords. Should i take the upgraded intercooler off until i get the intake and then retune?

Thanks in advance!

I would think you have a boost leak somewhere. You should talk to your tuner about your mods and see what they think.

I second the boost leak.

I upgraded my TMIC without tune and no loss in volume. Most probably culprit is going to be turbo to IC inlet not tight enough, or TMIC to TB not tight enough.

I played hell with boost leaks when I initially installed in those two locations.

Take off your IC hoses (Y-pipe, TB coupler), clean the oil etc. off them, get new clamps maybe (getting T-bolt ones is a good upgrade, especially on the TB coupler), retighten, replace hoses altogether as needed (check for crack, tears, etc). That alone made a huge difference for me in the past.
