up-pipe question?

I got a 02' wrx with factory 2.0L engine and i wanted to get a up-pipe. I noticed COBB has two types of up-pipes one with two bungs welded on and one with only one, says w/ or w/o egt bung. I need help knowing for sure which one i need to get for my year wrx.

If your going for cobb get it without the egt bung hole.

what sensors does that year come with? will i need to mod it to use the one w/o the egt or is the egt not on the 2002. If i had the service manual i could check it myself but cant find it for download.

MY02 WRX has EGT sensor in factory uppipe. It is not needed if you get a catless uppipe. You only need install the resistor mod in place of using the EGT sensor, which is no longer needed to monitor state of catalytic converter since there isn't one in a catless uppipe.

what is the benifit of getting a upippe w/ the flex, isnt the whole uppipe assembly located on the engine as a hard mount, wouldnt it be better for a flex downpipe instead. i wanted a hks uppipe and downpipe neither have flex pipes, but planned to use stiffer sti hangers for the exhaust and sti engine and trans mounts. anyone have problems with cracking parts w/o any flex pipes in place.

I'd go for the Cobb uppipe for sure.
I never heard of anyone having issues with it.

I've seen quite a few cracked "unflex'd" uppipes and damn near NO cracked "flex" ones...just my opinion (=
