No problems there. Fitment of generic parts tends to depend on generic parts being used. I personally haven't come across any bad reviews regarding up/down pipe spacing.

If you don't forsee having enough $$$ to get an AP for a while, you might want to look into getting a manual boost controler. You can find them around $80-$120, just keep it under 17psi.

With a manual boost controller, under certain conditions you might encounter part-throttle, full-boost and the engine may run lean as a result. Free-flowing exhaust alone may add to the leaning out but members have run exhaust without engine management with satisfactory results. I like to recommend getting engine management like the AccessPORT or EcuTek reflash at the same time as the exhaust because it makes more safe power than the exhaust without engine management, anyway.

With the stock '02 WRX turbo, I don't recommend running more than 16 psi with the 91 octane pump gas available in CA.

I've use an ebay (erz) uppipe before. There was no fitment issues or problems. I ended up switching it out to Helix and it ran the same. One thing I would recommend when using generic parts is to not use the gaskets that are included with the pieces. Hope that helps.

no problem to run stage 2 without AP but it sure does make a hell of a difference with the AP

you may want to check in to cel fixes because tinkering w/exhaust parts pretty much means your going to throw a code ....maybe the 2.2 k-ohm 1/2 watt resistor trick(uppipe egt code) and the rear o2 spacer trick(catylist efficiency threshold code)
