So how stupid would I be if?
How stupid would I be if I bought a VF-34 turbo and bolted it on without: engine management, injectors, and fuel pump? Gruppe-s site says that this a direct bolt on but to maximize power you need all of the above. So me paying 850 for this turbo and bolting it on is not going to give me any gain? and it can possibly hurt my engine? give me some input I am looking to get some substantial power gains eventually. So i plan on buying the above but seperatly.
Thanks guys

It would be very stupid, don't do it! Just save your money and buy everything at once or just don't install the turbo until you get the rest of the parts.

You want substantial power correct?
Get the parts installed AND TUNED
It would be very unwise to slap on a turbo/injectors/pump and leave the stock ecu tune in place. Without a proper tune you will ruin your entire setup since it will run too rich or too lean and all your hard work will go down the drain. Go to these links and read up (yes they're on nasioc but they're still good reads lol)

Bolting on a bigger turbo can be a great way to get more air into your engine. Unfortunately, if you don't get correspondingly more fuel to go along with the more air, you can easily get into a very lean condition.
And then BOOM!
Better safe than buying a new engine.

Thanks guys. It makes sense. It just feels like i can never do it, because of all of the requirements:
VF-34 Turbo w/Walbro and Pinks 1299
CObb Accessport V2 650
Proper tuning 100-200
Larger Top Mount (Helix) 650
Thats roughly 2800 dollars
To see the numbers that are put down from all that money, i am not all that impressed. If it was 1800 yeah then I would say it would be worth it, for the power gain. Its like what 270 to the wheels. I already have a Helix up-pipe, Down Pipe, Perrin intake for performance. I would like to squeeze out maybe another 50 horses and I would be happy. What should I do? Just buy the access port?

Given what you have, you are easily leaving a TON of power (30HP or more) on the table by NOT have some sort of engine management. Grab that puppy, and I bet you will be happy (for a while).

I've ran an OEM TMIC with my VF-34 since I bought it and have been fine. You will get a little better flow and cooling with a larger intercooler.

Thanks guys for all the input. I know power isnt cheap, but cheap power is the best.
I remember back in the day when the 02 wrx came to america, magazines were saying the best thing to do was buy a Turbo XS manual boost controller. ($79) People loved it according to the magazine. Not sure if I would do it. I think we would be dealing with more air not enough fuel situation again.
