up pipe question

I heard it is normal for smoke to come out of the hood when a up pipe is installed? I usually have a bit coming out at frequent stops. I heard it is due to the residue inside the up pipe.

Did you use wd-40 or something to spray on the bolts during install? Thats the only smoke I had, due to it burning off...It only lasted for about an hour or two. I dont know what else could be smoking. How long has it been like that?

You would probably know if it were a leak, supposedly a leaky uppipe is really loud.

CORRECT! if you used WD-40 or any liquid wrench..thats the reason why smoke is coming out when you first start it up.

if smoke is STILL coming out after a couple days then you got a problem
