I'm getting my exhaust in a few days now and I have a downpipe I'm going to install with it. Do I need to buy a gasket to go between the downpipe and the Turbo?
Next Question:
If I get an up-pipe will that throw a cel? Do I need to buy another fix for the EGT sensor? and what gaskets will I need.
Thanks,
Raymond

You should always replace exhaust gaskets when you break their seal.
You will get a CEL from the uppipe unless it has a bung for the EGT probe or you have a resistor for the CEL fix.

So basically what you're saying is that the HKS uppipe shouldn't throw a cel because it has a bung. But one question went unanswered. I understand that you should replace the gaskets, but are there a gasket between the turbo and the downpipe, and also is there a gasket between the turbo and the uppipe. Thanks for the info so far BAN SUVS, if you could answer or somebody answer my this last question, that would be great.

Aftermarket uppipes with an EGT bung *may* still throw a CEL, but that's somewhat uncommon. As for the uppipe gasket, yes, there is one there. Everywhere on the exhaust that has flanges bolted together, there is a gasket.

Will the mechanical cel fix work with the up-pipe also just like the downpipe, instead of the resistor fix. I really don't like the idea of cutting into wires, I'll will stay away from that as much as possible.

i dont think anyone has tried the mechanical fix yet. but honestly theres no point. the resistor mod costs $.99 and all you do is plug it in. very simple. gluck

I highly recommend using new turbo/uppipe , uppipe/exhaust header gaskets
