cobb stage 2 and 3/16 mod
cobb stage 2 and 3/16 mod
Hey i was wondering if anyone can help? i just got my ECU stage 2 reflash and was thinking should i remove the 3/16 mod or not ? Will it harm the engine if i leave it there? All i know is that i get about 17 psi of boost now!!!! and when i remove it i get only 15. Also when i first put the ECU in after reflash i noticed the boost held longer now it drops again? and doesn't hold so well. It held really well for the first 2 days now it holds the same as before. does anyone have any ideas?

from my understanding you are supposed to put the original one back in. Cobb tuned the reflash for the stock one to be in.

what 4080 said about the restrictor. cobb's doing away with them completely. i'm not sure if more ecu learning time would help. did you try http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ulti...ubb=forum;f=10 i gotta belive it's in there somewhere, otherwise i'd call cobb.

hmmmmmm. makes me wonder about this:
No more restrictor hoses with any Stages. We're doing everything in our power not to use them because frankly, people's obsession with them drives us crazy. If I had a nickle for every call/email/etc that dealt with restrictor hoses...well, you get the idea. If we have to fly out to your house and secretly install hoses while you all sleep we'd rather do that!
The AccessPORTs will be preloaded the all the current Stage maps as well as Valet, Anti-Theft, and a low-octane low-boost map. The others will be made available off the web site and we may load a few on the CD-ROM we send out with the Map Management software loaded on it. All the AccessPORTs are getting a default software load initially. I'm sure we can custom load maps on some if requested, it'll just delay shipping that particular AccessPORT a few days as it won't be part of the normal "assembly line".
CEL function will be part of the initialization process. You pick the map that has the Check Engine Light functionality you want before you initialize the AccessPORT.
Let's see, ummm...No restrictor hose. Oh yeah, and umm, no restrictor hose.
jbruno no restrictor hose for you!
The AccessTUNER package is still targeted at the same price - under $1000. Getting the AccessPORT now will save a bit of money but take into account shipping the AccessPORT back to us for the upgrade. That's not covered in the upgrade cost. I doubt it'll cost $40 to ship normal ground but if you want it next day air it likely will.
Cheers,
Trey @ COBB Tuning

maybe this is an accessport thing? i think they'd have ways to send modified downloads to compensate for the suboptimal boost. but i guess without accessport the restrictor still lives?!
