This has been discussed before here in the HIIC.

I think the reason why a majority of the WRX drivers installed them is for prudence. Maybe it's needed, maybe it's not. Can't hurt.

I don't have one in my car, and I've got a VF30. I'm seriously thinking about getting one, but on the other hand, I think I only need it when I'm down at the track. For now, I just try to let my car run a minute or so longer before I shut it off.
