Welcome to the i-club and godspeed in Iraq. I have a lot of respect for you boys over there! Going TBE and getting engine management are the two best mods to start with, if you ask me.
Probably the best engine management can be done through COBB Tuning with their AccessECU or AccessPort products. With the AccessECU, you pay slightly less but have to ship them your ECU so they can reflash it with a more aggrssive map for your vehicle. If you go AccessPort, you actually do the reflashing yourself with a small handheld device and you pay a bit more to be able to do this.
www.cobbtuning.com has a lot of great info on it about engine management. Enjoy, and come home safe!!!

I am a proud owner of the accessport and I love it but it is not a tune that will squeeze out all of your cars potential. No off the shelf map can get your car to its maximun potential safely since they dont all run exactly the same. I went with Cobb because they have a rep. for haveing the safest maps and some great gains for a great price. If you want the best tune possible you need to go to a good tuner and have them do a street tune or dyno tune. From what I've read UTEC would be great if you want to have someone do a custom tune or even if you want to do the tuneing yourself. I dont know much about the UTEC and I havent researched it any since I didnt want to have to mess with all of the tweaking. If you want to flash it, leave it and not worry that the map is too agressive I would go with Cobb.
I think it all really depends on what your plans are for the future. If you plan on going big with the mods then i would spend a little extra and do EcuTek / Utec. I think in general not only does is make sense to properly adjust the ECU to the correct parameters but also from a safety point of view as it relates to maximizing performance with a modified car. In my opinion the AP is a great resonably low cost general solution to ECU managment / mod; but blindly plugging in maps that alter, on a wide base scale, the ECU might be to the detriment of the car in the long run. Having the ability to make minor adjustments for almost every engine mod not only offers flexability but maximizes the full potential of the car overall.

Are you trying to say that Trey Cobb is blindly changeing mapping in a way that will be detrimental to the car in the long run? My understanding is that he tunes his maps in a very conservative way. Like I said above, I agree that a custom tune is a lot better than an off the shelf map but if you have an egt gauge and the temps are within range I wouldnt think you would have anything to worry about with an off the shelf map. Im not trying to discredit your statement, Im just wondering what exactly about his maps will cause this future damage. Im not trying to be a ...., Im just curious.
