does anyone have this done to there car?? I have alittle idea what they are sort of but if someone is educated on them I would like to know what exactly the tumbler valves do and why they are there. Is the deletes system a major power up grade is there a noticable difference? Is it worth the money if im not planing to make my car a full blow race car?

Here is a pic ripped from nasioc:

The top is stock and the second one is a stock one modifed (deleted), you can see that the flappers are gone.
APS makes one and there is also a JDM version....as well as manually porting and deleting the stocker as shown in the above picture. Also keep in mind you will get a check engine light that needs to be surpressed via engine management.
I bought my STi used and it came with APS TGV deletes. I also have a turbo inlet hose, TBE and a custom tune. I asked my tuner (Ed/EQ) if the TGV deletes helped and said they might have helped a little bit, maybe with response....so I wouldnt recommend it with the stock turbo. However you do need TGV deletes when you use large turbos that have 3" inlets. TGV deletes will increase top end power but it probaby wouldnt be worth it unless you have big hp goals and big turbo (plus it is a big pita to install Ive heard).
Hope this helps.

From what i understand, even with EM the idle is rough. If you are going to smog your car its not worth the hassle. I was thinking about doing this, and was talked out of it. Talk to a GST, or FLI they can give you an clearer picture

I completely agree with you that your sti runs smooth with out the tgvs.

Soooo......minimal hp gains, difficult install, smog implications and possible rough idle.....definitely sounds like too much hassle on the 2.0L in less you have huge HP goals (aka race car).
