Can anyone tell my why my LH Tumbler Valve keeps getting stuck closed? Getting codes P1087 and then occasionally P1093. Bad sensor?

 

I don't really know, but if this is a common problem for you, just get rid of the tumblers. If it was really stuck closed you would be losing some serious power. Have you noticed any hesitation at higher RPMs?

 

Oh yeah. Major loss of power. How difficult are they to remove and what about CEL coming on if they are gone?

 

You have to take off the intake manifold to remove them. The CEL doesn't do anything bad to the car (limp mode, etc) but can be removed with a Cobb reflash or proably any other aftermarket ECU upgrade. Someone at NASIOC is working on an electrical fix for the CEL as well. You can get JDM tumbler deletes from Quantum racing for 150 bucks.

 

Oh, and there is a shop in New Jersey (i think) that will port out your stock ones for near the same price.
