Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Which TMIC?

So there aren't a lot of reviews for Top Mount Intercoolers on this board and i'm looking to put a larger one in my 04WRX running stage 2. Can anyone suggest one better than the other, or should I go to an STI intercooler? If an STI intercooler, how much bigger is that than a standard WRX?

Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

The Ebay intercoolers can be hit or miss.

Buddy of mine just got this one....

Hasn't put it on yet, but it looks good, welds and such. Remains to be seen how well it flows.

Much better air flow and brings the internal temp down depending on the size of the intercooler.

Keep us updated on how that intercooler turns out I was looking at the same one for when I get a VF34.

The USDM STI TMIC is not a great fit on a wrx. I think the hoses are too short. You might need to get a different y-hose. The jdm sti tmic are a perfect fit but they are pricey.

so jdm sti tmic has same hose length with usdm wrx y hose and ic to tb hose? i think the jdm tmic is bigger than usdm sti tmic. also heard few issues about ac line touching the ic cuz its so damn huge.
