Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

STi RA Spec C Motor ?s

I haven't been able to find any information on the motor that comes in the car. Any info or sites I can find info on it would be great! I'm looking for info on the turbo, block, IC, etc...

Thanks,

Chris

there is a little info here:

http://www.rallispec.com/

I have seen a few sites in the past few weeks on some Type RA stuff.

You might do a search for Litchfield Imports (in GB)....they import the RA Spec C into England.

Too bad we can't buy that car here!!

You cruise Highway 35 much out your way?

Version 7 uses forged pistons.

Version 8 does not.

Both have nice treated cranks. Beefy semi-closed deck.

RA Motors have large intake ports on the cylinder heads. Flow ~260CFM on the intake side stock.

Version 7 Motors used the old VF30/34 technology, where as the version 8 uses a twin scroll set up.

Version 7 still have TGV, altho they are free flowing. Version 8 uses a 1 piece intake manifold.

Different oil pan, exhaust manifold (equal length), oil feed lines, cooler, and twin scroll turbo and matching up pipe. Has a different designed dowpipe with o2 sensor right after the turbo housing.

VERSION 7 RA Spec C

VERSION 8 RA Spec C

The turbo-induction hose on the V7 looks large, is it something special for the RA?

It seems that the intake manifold is a bit different between the two as well. The V8's red pipes seems to reach deeper to the block compared to the V7. Is this correct? WDoes anyone thing there would be compatibilty issues between using the various STI intake manifolds and the various blocks?

I noted that.

Each manifold will work fine. Just the version 8 went back to the old skool technology. The manifold itself will still bolt on say your US STi or WRX just fine.
