Stage 2 bugeye
Hi There,
I'm running a 2002 WRX with a COBB stage 2 tune. The car has a full Invidia turbo back system, and a COBB SF intake. COBB indicates that the car should make 16.5 psi of boost plus or minus 0.5 psi on 91 octane gas with their off-the-shelf 91 octane tune, or 17 psi, plus or minus 0.5 psi on their 93/94 octane tune. I have not seen any more than 14.8 psi...ever, so I'm assuming my turbo not making full boost. I even tried mixing 105 octane race gas with the higher octane tune but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Now, the car is running very well, and the turbo and motor are still in good condition. I would like to know what my options are....manual/electronic boost control?? Are they compatible with the COBB maps, etc.? I've heard mixed things about them! Also I live in Calgary where the elevation is 3440 ft above sea level...does this effect the boost? There are several very good tuners in the city but before I go to them I was wondering if I can do something differently, or is it even worth wile bothering with the stock turbo setup for the little additional gain.
Sorry for the long thread, so thanks for reading!
Cheers!

Found it.
In all seriousness, consult with a tuner, and all the better if there's more than one in your area, for a pro tune will give you better results than an OTS Cobb ever will.
Fwiw, I had a Cobb on prior to getting a much bigger TMIC and downpipe, didn't hit much more than 15ish, and now with those parts in, I'm at 20.
2.0L 04 WRX, short ram intake, stock turbo, cat back and no other power mods.
Engine management alone doth not make power, but can make the most of the parts you have.

Do you know what the turbo was running prior to mods?

Im running a fp green turbo, 750cc dw inj, SRI, full catless 3" tbe, Agency power exhaust header, 2008 sti tmic, cobb ap and was wondering if anyone knew a good cobb ots map to run with these mods. Nothing radical just something with drivability, reliability as a dd but slightly aggressive.

Well, I wanted a 68hta, but my turbo fried and my buddy sold it to me real cheap. And my wrx is my only car so I was kinda stuck. my head and block are built. and im not looking to blast the boost thru the roof. Just need to know if cobb has a map to run these mods. I awaiting reply from Cobb, but havent gotten a response.

I was under the assumption that you had a stock car with just a tbe, intake and AP,Anyways go to the Cobb site it has all the maps that are available to use.Im not one to be a A$$ but you really need to do some research before just start buying and tossing things on a car if you do not know.Good luck on your adventure hopefully you get that car tuned.
