Special tools for timing belt replacement?

Anyone replace their own timing belt on an ej20t yet? I cracked my timing cover. thought I'd replace the belt while I'm at it. I downloaded the instructions from scoobymods.com. Looks pretty straight forward. But they indicate a couple of special tools; crankshaft pulley wrench to lock the crankshaft while removing the pulley bolt, and also a crankshaft socket for aligning the crankshaft.

As with any job, having the right tools makes the job a lot easier. Is it necessary to have the subaru tools or are there other options? I appreciate any suggestions!
