Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

So i bought a 2002

Since your car will have the capability to take in more and put out more air, a tuned ECU can net much larger gains. The ECU was the last thing I did after all the above mentioned and it was a world of difference in power. The car just came to life. Before it, I raced a friend with a bone stock WRX and I pulled on him from the top of 2nd and all through 3rd. Now with the ECU, I aniliate him. Of course he had to go out and buy an STI, but that's another story. There is much to consider when shopping for tuning methods. Mostly you need to decise how far you want to go with it and try to find the best solution that will support future mods if that's where you're headed.

Also, a lightweight crank pulley nets a few horses and is easy to install. Makes the car feel quicker. I like mods I can feel. DON'T buy an underdrive (smaller diameter) pulley. It may cause your cam position sensor to read the wrong position and screw up your cam timing. I used a Perrin Pulley and it's been working great. Once you remove yours, hold the stock one in one hand and the Perrin in the other and you'll see why it makes power.
While I don't recommend underdrive pulleys myself, your reasons aren't quite right. The crank pulley that gets replaced has nothing to do with the part that drives the cams. Underdriving your power steering pump, AC compressor, and alternator won't affect your cam timing or cam sensor readings. It's just not the best thing to do to those parts.

Yes, I work for Vishnu, but that doesn't change the fact that Vishnu products are all of very high quality.

It's amazing how much misinformation gets tossed around these forums. First of all, lightweight pullies have virtually no measurable impact on power output. Not only is this proven on the dyno, it's also proven by the laws of physics. Removing ~3lbs of rotational weight located within inches of its center of rotation has very little impact on wheel hp.

This is not the same as lighter wheels which, at times, can remove weight 8-10" from the center of rotation, times 4 (four wheels, afterall). Second, underdrive pullies do improve wheel hp measurably by spinning accessories slower. The fact that they are make of aluminum (and are lighter) is just incidental.

Just my 2c,
