Quick Question
Is it necessary to disconnect the downpipe from the turbo when installing an upipe. It seems unnecessary to me, but all the instructions for uppipe install that I've looked at say to do it.
Thanks for the help.

Alright, I've got one more question.
I've heard that if you jack the engine up it might damage some coolant lines. Is it possible to get the uppipe out without jacking up the engine?
Thanks again.

Alright here goes...
After about 3 1/2 hours, me and my buddy finally got everything off and were ready to pull the uppipe out. However, the EGT was still connected and as luck would have it, I couldn't get a grip on the nut to remove. Now I think the nut is rounding off. So here's my plan. I just cut the EGT wire and tape it off. Pull out the stock uppipe and leave the EGT in it. My Helix uppipe has an EGT bung however so I need a bolt to plug it.
My questions are, is this a good plan and what is the size of the bolt that I need?
Thanks so much for all your help guys. The uppipe is a pain, but I know that she'll be done in a few days at the most and I'll have a great feeling of accomplishment...or something like that.

Hey I just installed a helix up pipe yesterday and i have a crazy cricket like whistle noise under boost. are these uppipes known to be noisey or do i still have a leak. i tightened everything twice when cold and then once again once warmed up?????I used a bolt in the bung for the egt sensor and i also have the helix turbo back. any chance i am getting resonance throught the sensor bung being empty under the bolt i welded in????

My Helix uppipe is in and she's beautiful!!! I still have to put in my Helix downpipe later this week. The only problem I had was getting the heat shields back in place. I can't remember how they go back on. By the way, when you replace both the up and down pipes, will the stock heat shields have enough to bolt to to still work or do I need to get an aftermarket shield?
GO AIR FORCE!!!!!

P.S. New2MeSuby,
That whistle sound that you hear is probably just the turbo spooling. This is totally normal with an aftermarket uppipe.
