PLEASE HELP 0 boost after install...
PLEASE HELP 0 boost after install...
Yesterday I installed perrin uppipe perrin downpipe and Apexi exhaust, everything went very smooth, took about 5 hours, i did both the egt and the o2 cel fix with the supplied resistors, i cranked the car everything sounded normal except the new helicopter like sound coming from the exhaust, let the car warm up in the shop no leaks, just some smoke from the turbo which im sure was from the huge amounts of penetrating spray i used, so i take the car out, driving down my block, press the gas build a little boost, maybe 3-4psi, get out on the main road, drive down through the 35 zone then punch it, no boost, the car drives fine but will not build boost at all, i hear no leaks or anything odd under the hood, I am guessing Im either in Limp Mode, or i have a leak somwhere in the hoses to the IC, anyone have any ideas, I think i was able to rev the car as normal, but dont remember because it was late... PLease give me some advice, I am going to check the egt cel mod, the maf sensor, and the intake hoses today... if I am in limp what do I do...??
TIA
note*** i am throwing no codes... no check engine light
is the wastegate stuck in open dump?
note2 **** car revs to regular redline, but still no boost, its almost like the wastegate has gotten stuck, is it possible if the perrin downpipe inside baffle for the divorced wastegate was slightly bent, could it have "caught" the wastgate and is holding it open, because mine has a slight dent in that piece when i got it... I have checked the egt mod, i actually clipped the plug off and soldered and heat shrinked the resistor in place, i have checked all the intake hoses, and the BOV both are sealed tight, i have disconnected the battery for 15 minutes, still no changes, when i did the install i unplugged the primary o2 but plugged it back up before cranking the car initially is this ok, or could that have caused a problem? I have triple checked all my work, i need help ASAP, i have to have my car so i can get to work tommorow.... PLEASE HELP...
TIA

Seems to me like you have a problem at the wastegate side of the turbo. If you didn't mess with anything on the intake side then concentrate on the exhaust.
You say you had a piece of pipe that has a ding? Where is this located? By any chance did you disconnect any of the vaccum lines to the turbo?
Just some of my thoughts.

If the arm from the actuator came looose from the wastegate, you would get no boost.
If the vacuum lines came loose you would get too much boost.
I have not seen the Perrin downpipe, I hope the wastegate would not catch on the splitter, Perrin is usually good quality.

heres what happened
My wastegate splitter was damaged in shipping, but i did not think it was enough to hurt anything, I was wrong, the wastegate was stuck open on the splitter, so i tapped the splitter back into shape and grinded and sanded out the raised areas(it looked like a crumpled fender, thanks ups
) reinstalled the donpipe and hand tested the w/g a few times.
Everything is fine now, but honestly overall, im not to impressed with the performance gains i have received from the uppipe downpipe and exhaust, they are mediocre or worse yet non existant... any opinions on why?

BakedCookies,
Did you go from stock to Perrin? There should be a signifigant jump in power with anyones 3" turbo back and up/pipe. Do you have a boost controller? Set a boost controller to 15-16 psi. Your car shoud have 50+ extra hp with those mods. The gains are good but not great at stock boost levels. As the boost goes uo the new pipes will do their job. We have dyno tested GPMoto turbo back and header at 15psi and found 50+ hp over stock.

yes
from totally stock to these 3 mods in one day... I must admit, driving the car today seems to be alot more impressive... would it be wise to go with say a turboxs mbc and set boost to 15psi? or should i just wait and go with utec or vishnu

Try resetting your ECU. Chances are when you first drove it the car was still trying to figure out what was going on with all the weird inputs. Since it got better today, and knowing that Subaru ECUs adapt fast, you may not need to now.
