If you are removing a cat you won't pass visual. Atleast in CA.

 

you will FAIL for sure with a catless downpipe . . . you will also fail visual even before you get to get it smogged, hahahaha

 

why do i hear so many people saying that even if they jus take out one cat, they'll still pass smog?

 

it "IS" possible but there is always a chance it wont . . .

 

You can tune the car to pass. It will be running REAL lean though. And if you find a lenient shop, they'll pass you on visual provided you're not glaringly breaking the law, and a lot of places won't know that you had a catted dp..

 

it all depends on where your from, not sure if this applies to your state but since you have an 04 you dont need to worry till 06 about smog, they only do safety test (wipers etc)

oh and if you do need to worry about it, post in your local forum for a lenient shop, you're not the only person that is catless.
