ITG was worth it when i bought 1 for $50. it was time for me to replace the filter and the price was suddenly $70!! after that, the $15 stock filter was too tempting and i went back to stock.

You never have to replace the K&N. Just recharge every once and a great while. A recharge kit usually runs around $10 US and is good for 2 recharges. So you might spend $60 over the next 100,000 miles! Pretty good deal in my book.

Yes it is, but the quality seems much better in both the cotton and the mesh that holds it there. One of the biggest things I noticed is how the pleats go east west like the OEM filter and not the long way north south. This gives the whole panel more rigidity and it appears to be less likely to kink the pleats. If you look at my link above you can see that my K&N has gotten a little out of shape after only a few cleanings.
