Overboosting?

I recently had a catless uppipe and a catted downpipe installed and now something weird is going on. On the way home from work this morning, I went WOT in 4th on the highway and saw my boost gauge hit 18psi. I let off the gas when I saw this happen, but the bad thing is that its a stock turbo. I'm sure they're are a few people who do mods w/o tuning, and if thats the case, has anyone ever experienced this before? I'm going to lay off the high boost runs until I can get tuned properly. Is there anything else I can do for now, besides laying off boost?

By reducing all that backpressure it's normal to get more boost. Getting tuned will solve your issues however.

Resetting your ECU will likely solve the overboosting problem. You might still experience a slight boost spike, but it the ECU should keep it inline after a reset.

Actually, the overboosting occured after I reset the ECU. It just hasn't figured it out yet I guess.

That dyno is rather "optimistic" but the curve looks good.
