Over boost help!!

Just installed a invidia v2 catless downpipe. My 07 wrx has been showing signs if over boosting. Engine light comes on and flashing cruise control light. And it happened when shifting from 4th to 5th then my fuel cut off. Since it has happend on Thursday my check light and cruise light has turned off but then turned back on when I had my cruise control set at 58 mph and it cut off my cruise control. Can anyone help ? I understand I need a tune. But is my car still drivable as long as I don't hit boost ? Just need some insight so I don't end up blowing up my motor. Thanks guys!

All signs point to what happens when you don't tune for this mod. Get a tune.

Particularly when you try to give it gas in 4th or 5th. Seriously go get a tune

The car will be drivable as long as you don't put any load on it but it's really not safe. That check engine light/boost cut is stopping your engine from exploding. Spend the $250-500 and get a good tune and save yourself a costly engine repair down the line.

Has it been overboost/fuel cutting since the DP install? Or before?

Yeah it means your car is not happy with the part. Get a tune.

You're flowing too much air, hence not enough fuel, you hit cut and the car goes into limp mode.

Get a tune like everyone else is saying asap. Also stay out of boost when you're driving till you get it.

Good, very dangerous for the engine.
If I had another car I wouldn't drive it at all but that's my paranoia haha.

Yeah I'm super paranoid as well cause she's my baby. Do you guys know if I could tune my car with an accessport ? Or should I take it to a place and have it done? Cause my next upgrade I'm planning in doing is an AP. any advice on that ?

From Cobb:

** The Stage2 maps were developed using a COBB Tuning turbo-back exhaust system with a high-flow catalytic converter. An equivalent turbo-back exhaust system could also be used. If a lesser flowing turbo-back exhaust system is used then boost targets may not be achievable. These maps are NOT designed to be used with an aftermarket race downpipe that does not have a catalytic converter (i.e. catless). Doing so greatly increases the chance for boost spikes and boost creep.

You will need a tune from a professional tuner for a catless down pipe.

You will need a tune from a professional tuner for a catless down pipe.
Or if you have an accessport, you can get a custom e tune through someone like Clark turner.
MANY people will not reccommend him, but he made my car run great and I had boost creep, and he has tuned more subarus than anyone on the planet. Yes he has blown motors before, but he's tuned more than any on the planet, he's bound to blow a few...
