Oil Change, please help

Just a quick question: I notice a lot of you are using 5W30 instead of 10W30. Any particular reason? Also, what are the advantages of switching to synthetic at 10k? Thanks guys! Sorry to kinda hijack.

I actually used 0W40 M1 instead of the once posted above. No particular reason. I'll be going back to 5w30 or higher next time. I am checking to see the difference if any. By the way, Choku, I was referring to you about the oil change if you were wondering.

10w30 mobil 1 synthetic here for Bay Area weather,
btw ppl keep knocking on fram oil filters, why is that? to me if your swapping them every 3k-3.5k there shouldn't be much of a problem..
btw gagan do you use that oil drain valve? does it stick out a lot causing clearance issues? i'm thinkin of gettin one ;o
