Octane booster yet again
I have some info and a question that might be useful to those of us with 91 octance pee water for gas.
I've heard people say that the off the self octane boosters don't work. I bought The Outlaw brand 4 pack of octane boosters. ($10 at walmart) I called the company and asked them what octane will I get with it when mixed with 91 octane gas. They said with all the Outlaw brand boosters, big or small bottles, you will get 92 octane. They said that adding 2 bottles won't give you any higher. So the off the shelf stuff will only give you 92. For $2.50 a tank it's better that 91, but I want better.
I've read the paint thinner post and while it sounds ok I'm not thrilled with the idea of putting paint thinner in my car or $5 a gallon 100 octane either. Is there a cheap alternative that will give me 94 to 95 octane or should I just go down to the paint store?

the best and safest way is to mix in higher octane gas with the 91
octane boosters don't work. and out of all of them NOS brand works the "best"
there a great article out there regarding ocatane boosters on some corvette page.
toulene is what you are refering to as "paint thinner"
toulene works well when used in small doses. there is only a certain percentage of toulene to gas that can be used before it becomes harmful to your engine. toulene is probably the cheapest method
