It seems some new products have hit the shelves lately... I'm running a UTEC and try to take advantage of the 100 octane pump gas near my house cayse it makes such a hige difference (only mix it to about 93.5 octane). At Kragen auto parts I found a new octane booster called CD-2 off road formula. It claims to boost octane up to 20 points (91 becomes 93)!!! That's pretty hot **** for a 16oz bottle! Anybody know alot about these things??? I don't mind paying the $$$, but I'm looking for a way to travel with higher octane. Toluene seems a good choice but one would have to carry alot more of it than something like this. Would you rather carry a 16oz bottle or an expansive 1gl jug???

20 points to how much gas? Even Xylene (116 or 117 octane) will only raise your octane on half a tank of 92 to ~95. And that's a full gallon. a quart of Xylene would raise roughly a 1/4 tank that much (20 points). Just go buy Xylene or Toulene. Cheaper (At the most it's $10 a gallon) and easier to get a hold of.

Sounds WAY too good to be true.
Maybe its lead? Check the bottle and read to see it if destroys O2 sensors or catalytic convertors. It also might be MTBE, but even MTBE isn't that potent. (Its 118 or 120 octane I think).
I add 2 GALLONS ( 16 x 16oz) of Xylene (117) to 14 gallons of 91 and I get about 94

uhh, 22 points does not equal what you think it does... say you have 91 octane and you add this octane boost for 22 points more... you simply have 93.2 octane. now there is also an octane boost that increases it 7 NUMBERS or 70 POINTS... look for it at a KRAGEN, thats where I got mine... and it really works. Feels a lot like if i was running 100 octane.

The real question...? What is the best bang for buck in a small bottle and where can we all buy it?

Back on topic... Forget those octane boosters. Get some rags (to cover the side of the car) a gas can with a tight spout, and a gallon or two of toulene/xylene. Readily available at any large home improvement or paint store.
