Not happy with dealer installed short throw shifter
I picked up my 04 WRX a few months ago. I love it. I waited a month for the dealer to get a short throw shifter and install it. I am not happy with it. It feels sloppy and not a vast improvment over stock. Unfortunately I didn't know about this web site, I have learned so much from this forum. What can I do with this shifter now? Should I intall KB bushings or replace the entire unit?
I really need to make this shifter better!

Can I install bushings?
If I order the bushings, can I do a self install? There are 2 bushings involved. Kartboy says the car needs to be jacked up for install. I did a search here and it seems the bushings install from inside the car. I am confused and not real handy. Any suggestions.
It takes some 10-15minutes to install the bushings. It's a piece of cake.
check out www.scoobymods.com for an indepth how-to. But mainly it involves a 12mm wrench, and a little elbow grease. Nothing more.
Yes it's under the car....

yea the bushings are under the car and you should be able to do it with no problem. It seems like you haven't worked on cars before but most of the things are really simple. Check scoobymods.com out because they have alot of writeups and info on installing a ton of parts.
