New to Forum! Have a mbc ? for you guys
Just wanted to start off by introducing myself. New 2002 WRX owner have had my baby for about 3 months now and loving every second, just have to watch out with cops. Ive gotten two tickets already. You'll probally see me more often now ive just been reading all the topics and informing meyself about the car.
On to my question im running a CAI, GFB BOV, and a custom Turbo Back Exhaust. I ordered the JOE P MBC and recieved it today but im afraid to install it due to the fact that i have heard stories of endagering the turbo or engine due to high EGT's or overboosting. I still have the stock Up-pipe and don't know if i should install the MBC. Would it be ok if i used the MBC but running around 15.6 psi since the stock PSI is around 15 (14.6)? What do you guys think? Thank you in advance for all the help.

I have used an MBC, an GoFastBits one,for quite some time. I have 37k miles on my car and have never had a problem with it yet. My tips to you with using an MBC are this..
1. Set the peak boost pressure in 5th gear, using stock turbo, then don't set it higher than 16psi, or at limit 16.5psi but thats the highest I would set it period.
2. Your peak boost should then be lower in the other gears, maybe by almost -1psi, due the the reduced duration+load.
3. Watch out for partial throttle high boost situations, ie. If your at 1/4 throttle, or 1/2throttle and your boost creeps up to over 8psi you probably don't have enough fueling.
