Need suggestions for new FMIC (pics, 56k no way)
Hey,
We're new to the forums, but we're working on our new Front Mount design for the WRX, and need some input!
We can't decide what to do with the front bumper support! So far we've come up with two options;
1. Make a new one that would fit between the FMIC and the fascia. The fascia would then bolt to this.
2. Add tabs to the top of the intercooler, and the fascia would simply mount to this.
If you've seen the size of the stock bumper support, it looks pretty useless. It wouldn't be that difficult to fab something up that would fit, but we're trying to decide if that's really worth the extra cost. Do you guys feel that you need it? Let us know what you think!
I've included pictures of what we've got so far...
But please remember that we're still in the "design" stage, and things may or may not be changed.
And in case you're wondering, this specific set up is going to be for a T3/T4 turbo, so the piping is different. We will be offering the same type of set up for the stock turbo.
Thanks!
-Mike

APS makes thier own bumper beam and everyone else cuts or gets rid of the stock one. then they leave it off and pray for no crashes or get the JDM one because alot of the FMIC fit that

It's ok I guess, but I think if you're really trying to make a kit that's different from everybody elses, why don't you make what I've been begging for. A front mount that's high up in the grill, and requires you to flip the intake manifold, I'll even be your guinea pig if you're within 500 miles.
Cheers,
Joel
p.s. I'm sure most people know by now that I REALLY want a WRC style intercooler setup, I even have a WRC replica hood standing by lol.

ill take one too. they do sooooo much to make that set up work though have you seen how thier engines and ours are soooooo much more room on the wrc car they dont have alot of the stuff we do. i would give up the AC though
Hey mike, I like the up in the grill mounting idea... if not in my opinion would like to keep my front bumper support just for safety reasons, i know it does look like it doesn't do much, but i would rather pay $$$ more to get a fabbed bumper support...
my 2 cents...

We can sell the core without the pipes, and the kit will probably see production in about 30 days, we just finalized a few test set and we are waiting to check them for any issues in a few days.
The kit pricing is still up in the air, we want to keep it competitive, however the kits do require quite a bit of labor, and piping. We will probably start with an introductory offer on the boards for a substantial discout for the first 30 days, this helps us recover our investment during R&D, after that the kit should compare with the APS units and such.
Thanks

The core we will use is our own, not a spearco or griffin, or whatever others use, you can read about it in our IC Tech section on our website www.adfxracing.com
