Need suggestions and guiding..

Well I just purchased my o2 wrx last week. So far have had tons of fun smashing on turns. Now thinking about mods. I don't really have a set amount right now(planning), but I'm not sure what to do. First Idea was to get a VF34 turbo but wasn't sure if I needed to get a fmic or the stock one was ok. Then people say that the vf34 doesnt have that much output. On top of that intake, perrin sounds good but realizes intake doesnt do anything, really. Another board said that I should first get a utec, but I honestly don't see why. What comes out of it. Isn't the stock ecu just fine. Pleae help, was also told to just buy the Cobb Accessport.

Please give me suggestions and what the utec does, and when is a good time for a fmic if I even need one?

Thanks a lot

since you like to mash corners like my self i would go with the accessport first then take it from me go with suspention. cobb has a very good suspention kit. and forget about springs go coilovers take it from me i have h&r springs and im kicking my self in the a$$ for not saving up for some tien coilovers. and once you have that set you can slowly mod your car for horse power according to accessport needs for diffrent maps uploads. but in my humble opinion go suspention. like i have said before in this forum any car can go fast in a straight line but to take corners at insane speeds is much more fun. plus you can scare the $hit out of your friends. good luck
peace

I guess modding really comes to personal needs, and budget of course. Sounds like you should definitely go with the suspension stuff if you like taking the turns. If you're comfortable tuning, then the utec would be for you. Otherwise, like the other guy said, go with the accessport and use their off-the-shelf maps. I'm happy with my port. Sure wish I had the money to get suspension components, even brake upgrades. But, I went with straight line prowess first.

if you plan to get a turbo upgrade or even condider more power, your going to need to get some type of ECU management. The Accessport is fairly popular because you can download new maps to take advantage of your new mods. The UTEC and Xede are good if you want to tweak everything yourself. you can download maps off the sites but you can change things around.
the VF34 is a good upgrade if you want to put down around 250 to 275 wheel horsepower. it has a good balance between power and driveability. larger turbos like the power enterprise series offer higher power output but its all at the top. along w/ a larger turbo your going to need larget injectors and a better fuel pump. your stock intercooler will work just fine along w/ your stock intake. i wouldnt spend any money on an intake or intercooler. instead get some intercooler hoses. search around on the forum and you'll find tons of posts about the VF34 and different types of ECU management.
