Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Need some help guys!

Ok guys, I have a 02 wrx and this is my setup.

DC sport header
HKS full 3 in. catback exhaust
HKS up pipe and down pipe
AEM ems with wideband
850cc injectors
walboro fuel pump
OBX fmic

This is not a daily driver, it's more or less just a weekend racer. I was wondering what turbo should I go with to get the most power out of my 2.0L motor without blowin it up after one weekend. I would like to hit around 400whp. I bought an SR40 but sold that because I needed some money. Now, I've looked into the gt30r's as well. They look like a pretty good turbo, but i'm pretty new at all this and i dont really understand all the spex on turbos. A friend told me to go with an fp green, but other people said thats to big and I would'nt ever get it spooled up before i had to shift. Please let me know what you guys think.

Any info. will be helpful. Thanks!

Josh

What kind of racing do ya want to do? If you want that gt30 turbo, i think you'll need the perrin kit that rotates the turbo so the piping will line up.

If going rotated I'd take the UR kit over the Perrin but it all in preference.

you could run a Green on the 2.0L, it would have similar results to the GT30R. You might also look into the T3/T4 kit that UR sells, not as harsh on the budget.

I daily-drive a stock USDM 2.0L w/ a TD05H-20G. For me, on this engine I would not recommend any larger for daily driving, but since yours is a weekend car, I'd go with a SZ49(or FPGreen) or possibly the UR T3/T4 kit.

You'll need one hell of a tune to make sure everything is safe you'll be pushing the stock engine to the limit.
