need help with bov

i just installed a gfb bov on my car nad now if makes a scratchy sound when i shift or let off of the gas instead of the pssht noise, whats going on, someone help with answers.

What model do you have?
Is the tightness adjustable?
If it sounds like a barking banche the BOV could be too tight or sticking.

just thoughts...

hybrid i guess, it can go 50-50 or 100. i have it set at 100, can i spray wd40 in the thing?

What other mods do you have? Also try taking the bov off, and putting the stock bypass on, and if it still makes the sound go to the dealer.

BOV noise

When I got my GFB valve put on (100 atmospher...gonna change it to 50/50) I was kind of shocked at the noise myself. I my car is an automatic and when I release the throttle at low or no boost it makes kind of a sputtering sound. Anyone else here this noise? It sounds like a piston toggling for a few seconds. Under full boost it makes the psst. Is this normal? Now you have me worried about it! The noise seems less loud now, maybe because I got used to it...hopefully its that.

If you have cats still you want to have it on 50/50 because you are shooting out metered air with teh BOV. Which means there is fuel for that air, but no air so the cats have to work hella hard to burn that gas off. I'm only running the uppine cat ( no for much longer), so I'm running it 100% off.

ya i greased my piston and it works right again,
TURBORAMBLER- i got the same noises as you, with the low end sputtering.
and im gonna change it to 50-50 soon, thanks

Thats good, least something isn't broken. I'm changing mine to 50-50 as well and eventually I might get rid of the whole thing.

same here, it makes me shift at higher rpms wasting my 217 a gallon gas as well as running rich right now.

i think that it might just be the adjustment on it. you might need to put more spacers in it to make it tighter. i live in kansas city now but moved for denver. in denver it does that same thing but down here it is nice and crisp. the spring tention is too loose and the air just kinda sputters out instead of building up then releasing. look to see if it leaks at idle. if it does then u definatly need to add some spacers.

Hey, I have a Turbosmart BOV and have the same sputtering problem. I hear a strange mechanical flapping sound when I shift at low rpms. Does anyone know how to fix this?? Is this a defect in the bov? I want my money back!

i was told this is normal for new BOV's. the spring inside needs to break in. mine has just about stopped making the chatter noise. a couple guys told me this will dissapear as time goes on......and it's seems like it is!!!!

My valve by GFB made that sound especially when it was 100% atmosphere. As time went on the sound did diminish. It still makes that sound at low RPMs though. I was quite surprised at that sound when it was first installed!
