My Stage 2+ plans
Hi All, I am currently at Stage 1 and thinking of just bypassing stage 2 and upgrading the turbo (car is a 2005 Saab 92x with 42000 miles) So far, I've got a Prodrive axle back, STI uppipe, Cobb catted dp, STI TMIC. I wanted to stick with one of the turbos specified under the Cobb OTS maps for their Stage 3, which are VF34/30/39, or a small FP 16. After doing some research, I've come to the conclusion that the VF34 will best suit my needs. I am basically looking for around 275whp/tq and good everyday driveability. I know I'll need injectors and a Walbro fuel pump. I was wondering what your thoughts are on this setup and if anyone is running something similar? Also, does anyone know of a good place to source a VF34? They seem rather hard to come by. I've put a ad out over at NASIOC. Thanks

So you're stage 1 but you have all those parts...do you have those parts installed or not installed? Because, if you do have them installed, you're pretty much already at stage 2.
If you're going to upgrade your turbo and will be upgrading your injectors and fuel pump, don't forget to keep in mind your other "supporting" mods as well like 1 step colder spark plugs, boost controller, pads, etc.
For your turbo...check out extremepsi.com I'm not sure if they still carry the 34, but they have other great options. I got my 16G from them and it was a quick turnaround time of within 1-1.5 weeks.

I've just been sourcing the parts so far. There is a place called AZP Installs in NJ that will be doing the work so after speaking to them, they adivsed me that it's best to just get everything and go the upgraded turbo route. I drove a couple of stage 2 cars and though they were nice, I felt like I needed a little bit more power.
I checked Extremepsi's site but I didn't see a VF34 listed. They seem pretty hard to come by. I wouldn't mind doing the FP 16g specified under the Cobb OTS ma but I can't seem to find a company carrying the small 16g. If you guys know of anyone selling a good used VF34 or VF30, please let m know. Thanks.
