Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

My setup...am I missing something?

I currently have a MY 03 wrx engine.

I'm upgrading the power, following pretty basic mods.

Here is a list of mods that I have. They're sitting in my living room, waiting to be installed, in transit from a tuner shop, or already installed (exhaust, downpipe, ghetto intake).

VF34 turbo
GP moto header (equal length w/integrated uppipe)
3" bellmouth downpipe
2.5" downpipe-back exhaust
ghetto intake (elbow delete) with k&N
venom 550CC injectors
perrin fuel rail
walbro fuel pump
TMIC: 20x12x4
perrin intercooler hoses
grounding kit
COBB accessPORT...getting streetTUNER in a few weeks

I didn't realize it, but I'll need new head gaskets, seeing as I'm taking off the intake manifold/tumblers at the same time to install the fuel rails.

Is there anything missing out of this equation?

I'm going to score a wideband from my buddy, hit a dyno, and tune with the streetTUNER...

in the meantime...am I missing anything obvious? I just thought a sanity check was in order before I threw all of this into the car.

TIA

If you plan to be going faster, also plan to upgrade your suspension, brakes, tires, etc. I would say front rear sways with endlinks, front rear strut tower braces, new tires, ss brake lines, dot 4 fluid and new pads would be a good start.

You dont need a head gasket. You need an intake manifold gasket.

Right...not a head gasket...my bad.

I've already upgraded suspension, done mild work to the brakes (pads/discs/lines)...but I appreciate the input!

I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything as far as this 'stage' goes.

Mods already on the car:
perrin rear end links, swaybar, mounts
front whiteline end links (no need for the front bar...the balance is perfect right now)
pads/discs/lines
tires
harness (schroth)

lots more mods are on the way...but as I said, I'm getting the 'power' out of the way in this stage so I can focus on the fun stuff (suspension) next.

I'm kind of a spazz and figured I was probably forgetting something. All help is appreciated!

Are you running a 2.5" exhaust but a 3" downpipe...that wouldnt make sense to me. Might as well go a full 3", besides that it sounds great.

I already had the 2.5" exhaust unfortunately.

3" all the way back would be nice. I think I'll do that eventually. The car came with the borla catback, so I just kept it....figured it was one less thing to buy.

perhaps I SHOULD upgrade it.

IMHO you already got hte 3" downpipe, might as well finish the job with a 3" exhaust..

I agree you should go with a 3" cat-back exhaust. as for the cobb AP, unless you really know a lot about tuning the cars, I'd let a professional do it by getting it protuned.

holy ****!

is it made out of gold? hehehe

i got the gasket from the dealer for $10.

In other news...my car is still in pieces.

I got the wrong injectors, sent them back, got new injectors, and the new injectors didn't include o-rings. I had already sent mine back for a core refund, so i couldn't use MY o-rings...what a pain.

bottom line: double check your parts (open up all the boxes) before taking everything on your car apart. *sigh*

I think you would really benefit from a 3" catback exhaust.
Unless you trust yourself tuning your car yourself let a professional
tune your car.
