Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

My EJ20T has made a big "BOOM"!

Only problem is these companies are in the US ... I wouldn't know what's out there where you live ... but may be these companies can give you some in-site on where in Japan to import from .... Hope that helps

You may check this website; http://www.axispowerracing.net/services.html
I heard lots of good things about their engines, or you can buy 2.5 L US STI short block if your engine cylinder head is intact.
You can get STI block for around $1300.
But to be honest I would look to get engine from Japan STI and that you can run big size turbos.
I am not a big fan of NOS, its really kills engine.
I am from Kharkov my self.

Yeah, $3500 sounds just about right (including shipping?). What version of STI engine? From which version of STI? How many miles on engine/tranny? Don't forget to get STI ECU. And since STI engine could handle more than WRX I would go with larger turbo. VF34 would be a good choice (not expensive) you can get it for about $700 unless your STI engine will come with twin scroll turbo.

40K is quite a lot. hmmmm.
and yes you need rear diff as well, because 6 speed gear box is longer, and you need different lengh shaft. I would recommend you not to rush and do more research on sourcing engine. I know it's painfull in the middle of summer watching your baby sits in the garage and you can't drive it. But better do it once right than try to correct your problem few times, at which point you loosing money and time, but gain experience. Also you can look at RA type gear set for your gearbox which only will leave your gearbox housing and it's much stronger and has a shorter gear ration, which helps if you drag racing.
