You can safely get more boost just by opening up your exhaust system. Stock WRX's are in the 13psi range at WOT. But after doing an uppipe and downpipe you should be at around 14.5-15psi with spikes to 16 possibly.
But if you want more "booooost"
Just raise the boost to 15psi with a boost controller.

So far from my research I have found that wiseco pistons are really good. And race engineering at www.Raceeng.com said that they work out better than JE pistons. For rods I am prabably going to get buschur racing rods. They are heavy duty and for a good price too. If you build your bottom end you are going to stronger head bolts and head gaskets. If you are going squeeze as much power as you can out of the car then building the bottom end first is probably smart to build strength. Do that and get the biggest street turbo you can find and crank up the boost.
I am still undecided on my turbo but I am thinking APS SR50 which is comparable to an ecliipse FP Green. Actually the biggest bolt on I have found so far but who knows there may be something bigger.
All I know is I wont allow myself to lose to an EVO.
