Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Missing a bolt to the exhaust, what size is it and where can I get one?

I was changing my oil yesterday and as I was underneat the car, noticed that my car was missing a bolt that connects the downpipe to the exhaust. This might explain why sometimes when I accelerate from a dead stop, I hear a clunk noise. There should be two bolts that connect the downpipe to the straight exhaust pipe and I only have one connected (I bought the car used and the previous owner probably had an exhaust on it). Does anyone know what size the bolt is and where I can get one (obviously other than the dealer). It looks like a simple bolt/nut but I thought maybe it needs to be heat tolerant, etc, etc.
Thanks!

14mm nut. For the actually bolt I can't really remember, maybe someone else can elaborate. Don't worry, that recently happened to me as well. I just got it fixed not too long ago.

Yeah, I measured it as well and got 14mm as well but Home Depot doesn't carry them and neither did Lowes.

If I take out the other one then I have to find another way to get to the hardware store since my exhaust could fall out. Was hoping I could solve it easily but I guess not.

not a good idea if you don't have two cars...

hehe, I know home depot has them cuz I've bought them there before, unless home depots are different from city to city, did you ask one of the older guys? They're quicker to help, most of the younger ones will say they don't have it, but mean "I don't have that in my department, that's a tool and I'm in appliances" or "I'm too ****en lazy to get off my ***got *** to do what I'm paid to do, which is help you."

exhaust bolts are 10mm X 1.00(or 1.25) thread pitch iirc.
