I used to have a 3" Stromung catback with no flex joint in the mid pipe. After almost 2 years, the midpipe ripped off of the flange connecting to the downpipe and I had to get it rewelded. My buddy who owns a muffler shop told me it was because there was no flex joint....since my catback was mated to a Helix downpipe there was no movement anywhere and the vibration just eventually made it loose.

You need a flex somewhere in the TBE. The stock exhaust has a donut gasket and spring bolts where the 3rd cat pipe and resonator pipe meet instead of a flex in one of the pipes. If there is no flex somewhere in the exhaust, you run a very high chance of getting an exhaust leak somewhere or something like what happened to ScubaruImpreza .
