i wanted to know if anyone had a problem when they went above 120+ and it made a wierd whistling noise. Is it normal to hear something that loud in the inside?
I was wondering the same thing, but since you ask that question and it has happened to me it must be normal. Im thinking that the Fin in the back looks cool but makes weird noises at high speeds. Probably not very usefull either.

i've heard noise going at around 100mph, but sometimes I don't hear it. i've heard it at over 130mph too, but i've gone the max speed in the car, and it's been quiet(well as quiet as it can be)

i think it's just how the wind hits your car or something.aerodynamics n all that

Phew, it sounded like you'd totally disregarded dealers warning and had been tooling around with WOT all day. Now that you've explaine things I think I'll have a .

Both the auto and manual WRXen have speed limiters in the ECU.

Vishnu is able to raise the limiter as part of the ECUtek reflash

last night after the yorba linda meet I was on the 91W and it was wide and open no cars what so ever. I hit 140 with no problem and it was still wanting to go. Since I just got a DUI I just let it cruise back down to like 75-80. I too, heard the whistling noise. This is the only car that I have driven that felt that stable at such high speeds. I love this car. Also my car is bone stock 2 1/2 month old 04 black WRX.

With the limiter removed via ECUtek, I am not sure if anyone has gone for a top speed run... Vishnu recommends that you DO NOT go for top speed runs since they are VERY hard on the engine, due to the excess heat built up....

With enough power though, the stock WRX tranny's 5th gear will take you up to between 170mph and 180mph.
