i wanted to know if anyone had a problem when they went above 120+ and it made a wierd whistling noise. Is it normal to hear something that loud in the inside?

hahah Try going to the dealer and say "I love the car but when I go about 120 mph there is alot of wind noise" and see what they say. hahaha
I have a 3 day old 04 wagon and the dealer said to keep it under 4k rpm... ok I hit 100mph that night. hahaha

Im not condoning speeding but where i live there are large sections of ledge/rock and guard rails on the other. There are a few spots to open her up. I have done 130mph into a corner on the highway that was banked wrong and i got nervous fora second. I let off the gas and felt the @#$ end geta lil squirelly so I got back on it and shifted the power and had no problem at all. Boy did that get the adrenaline going alil

hey blacksuby i heard that the whistling noise comes from the side view mirrors i didnt notice it myself but then again i was not really paying much attention to anything other than the road. ive buried the needle 140+ and still felt the car pulling. top speed stock is 145 aerodynamically limited = more power to go faster, gear limited at like 180 ish or so ive read.

I heard a whistling noise on mine just going about 30 or above. I finallynarrowed it down to the drivers side rearview mirror. I folded it back and noticed that there is (was) a sticker in there that had come up a little. Pulled it off; no more noise.
Also noticed that with the windows down the tag on the seat belt would flap sometimes. Scared the hell outta me the first time I heard it. That thing "was" there too.

i've heard noise going at around 100mph, but sometimes I don't hear it. i've heard it at over 130mph too, but i've gone the max speed in the car, and it's been quiet(well as quiet as it can be)
i think it's just how the wind hits your car or something.aerodynamics n all that

Phew, it sounded like you'd totally disregarded dealers warning and had been tooling around with WOT all day. Now that you've explaine things I think I'll have a .
last night after the yorba linda meet I was on the 91W and it was wide and open no cars what so ever. I hit 140 with no problem and it was still wanting to go. Since I just got a DUI I just let it cruise back down to like 75-80. I too, heard the whistling noise. This is the only car that I have driven that felt that stable at such high speeds. I love this car. Also my car is bone stock 2 1/2 month old 04 black WRX.

With enough power though, the stock WRX tranny's 5th gear will take you up to between 170mph and 180mph.
