manual boost controller adjustment/problem?
hello,
i have a couple questions about adjustments for the hallman manual boost controller. anyways, before
installations, my factory boost solenoid gave me:
gear boost
1st 15.9 psi
2nd 14.5 psi
3rd 14.5 psi
4th 15.9 psi
5th 15.9 psi
i like these settings but i get major boost spiking.
when i floor it i get these readings. on first max
boost is level but on second gear it fluctuates from
11.6psi to 14.5 psi. on third through fifth gear
boost spiking is more dramatic. it flutuates from
10.1 psi through 15.9psi.
i installed a hallman manual boost controler. boost
spiking was eliminated. but on first install, (with
the 1/2" space between the adjuster and the boost
controller) i was maxing @ 10.6 psi. i started to
adjust the controller and finally got close to 13.0
psi. i know i was starting to get high egt's when i
realized that the gas pedal was only half way down
when i was maximum boost.
please any help would be appreciated. i have removed
the hallman boost controller and running the stock
boost solenoid--i've got boost spiking again.

Sounds like you need to back the boost controller **** out some. When it is turned in too far you will get high boost really quick at partial throttle. Just turn the **** counter clock wise and check again.
