I would recommend, due to delta dash downloads, to use Premium from 76 (I know the most expensive).

It doesn't really matter who does your oil change - I used to buy Subaru filters and have the place down the street change it but now I buy Fram filters and have the place down the street change it

What kind of car you drive determines the grade of fuel you need.

If you have a WRX, your car requires a minimum Octane rating of 91. If you have an RS, you should use 87.

If you're not so sure about changing your own oil filter, take your WRX to your mechanic first. Watch him do it; if you ask politely he may even teach you/walk you through the process so you can do it yourself next time.
I feel your pain when in comes to premium haha. Just suck your gut in and eat a cheaper lunch . Good luck!
