This could've been the first place he tried to take it. Or maybe the guy at the second place changed his mind. Either way, he said he e-mailed all the other dealerships and SOA with the guys plate and VIN number. No way Subaru pays a cent on his warranty, even if it's not mod-related...

Call me an a-hole if you like, but stuff like this just makes me sick. And anyone who comes to a forum to BRAG about being an immoral jerk DESERVES to be turned in.
Fraud charges ought to be brought against this guy...

I'm sorry but you're making yourself out to be the complete a**hole. First off you shouldn't be modding your car if you have no idea what you're doing. Second off you're scandalous for trying to rip off SOA for your own mistake. It's because of people like you that car companies, insurance companies, etc. have to be so damn strict on claims. I'll be happy to hear that you're claim is denied. Afterall you truthfully don't deserve it for trying to defraud a company for your mistake. Do people have no morals these days?

just to add, i bought my wrx in december knowing very little technical details about it, and have used this forum as my primary source of knowledge & advice, and the moment i read your original post quoting 18 psi on stock turbo & ic i knew you screwed up, so don't blame your self-inflicted woes on this forum. do us all a favor and stop buying subarus. heck stop buying cars altogether.
and when you screw SoA out of $3000, the cost gets passed on to consumers like you and me, so you are in a sense making every subaru customer pay for your mistakes. grow up.

I'm sorry to report...
that I wasn't the sole cause of WRXs2Fast4U's claim being denied -- here's a copy of the e-mail that the service manager from Carter Subaru in Seattle sent me:
"hey .... it was us and so again, thank you.
Service wasn't going to simply agree to fix under warranty because they
were very suspicious about missing parts and etc, but your email was very
helpful!
Yours,
Joe Spitz

So as much as I'd like to think that I single-handedly shut you and your s#it down, I didn't. It wasn't going to get okayed anyway. They saw evidence of your stupidity all over the engine and it was going to get turned down anyway...
I'm sure that makes you feel better. It's always nice to know that YOU are the source of your own problems and not others...
