Low Idle

Low Idle
When I start my car cold it idles around 1500 then about a couple seconds later it drops to around 500, the engine definitely is sounding weak. Even with the engine warm it idles around 500 and it sounds so low that the engine might just die. Any ideas/suggestions? thanks
was reading up and saw that it could possibly be a dirty IACV sensor but that seems to cause high revving instead of low
