I noticed a huge increase in "whoosh" action since removing the silencer, and installing a K&N Drop in filter.

On my 05 wrx I noticed a boost increase when I had my k&n. Add that to a reflash with different parameters and you could blow the engine. Basically, the added boost and air without proper fuel tunning is what destroys the engine.

Save the douh and get a pro-tune. You won't be sorry :bananen_smilies098:
