It might be 33-2232, but check it out for yourself at K&N's site. They have an online application guide.

It was definitely a tight fit for me too... I ended up taking the air box out. With the box out, it was a snap to put the K&N filter in (part no 33-2232).
Here are some useful instructions on taking out the airbox - there is not much difference between old age and new age...

That's correct. K&N has their own special oil for their filters. I think I used to use the one in the spray can. Follow their simple directions and don't oversaturate the filtering medium. The K&N oil is a part of the filtering action.

you only need the oil when you reuse it.

I also forgot to add that at that time it needs to be cleaned with K&N's filter wash (solvent). This is the most time consuming part and messy of the re-use. Hitting the filter against the floor or blowing it out with compressed air doesn't work too well because the dirt really sticks to the filter material and oil.
