Intercooler swap

Would there be any advantage or disadvantage to putting an STi top mount intercooler into my 04 WRX wagon?

I personally dont think an intercooler swap from wrx to sti alone would necessary warrant a custom tune.....

would be great if your going a bigger turbo - otherwise you prolly wont see much of a difference.

not saying a tune is MANDATORY, subys are just touchy, any mod makes a difference IMO, i noticed a difference in the way mine drove with an ebay huge tmic, but i am also **** about everything in my car... lol

btw i didnt tune mine for about 3 months (only apv2) after install of tmic, then went stg2 now stg4

not necessary with a stock turbo and you would need to reprogram for the extra amount of air through the larger intercooler to be safe running

would a Cobb Accessport give it the proper tuning it needs if i were to put in the STi tmic? Or would a proshop have to do that kind of tuning? and if it did get the proper tuning would there be a slight or significant differance?

It would be beneficial no matter what the gains are. Less heaksoak compared to the stock TMIC.

might hit your AC line behind the tmic. the sti tmic hit mine 02, but didn't hit my friends 03 wagon. if you upgrade your tmic, there are plenty of them out there that are better than the sti one
