Installing Stromung DP!
I will be getting my stromung DP on thrusday, tomorrow! I can't wait. Its the first thing I am going to do to the car.
I have some questions. I don't have a lift so is it hard to put on the DP without one? Should I just take it to the local muffler shop to put it on? Price?
Thanks!

I am lazy. I went to a local shop and they installed the stromung turbo back for $90. It took a little work and lots of weird extensions. Midpie back came off like a dream but that damn dp was a little stubborn. I think the heatsheild was in the way a little. It went back on pretty easy. Up to you i guess. He had a lift and it took about an hour.

Dont waste your money on the local muffler shop. Installing a DP is a very simple process and should only take you about 1.5 hours at most. Use ramps or jack stands to lift the car. once that is done, let the engine cool down.
Now remove the rear O2 sensor. After that, simply remove the spring bolts to the catback and the bolts to the turbo. There is a hanger bolt about half way down the DP aswell. Save the $40 or $50 and do this install yourself.
All you'll need are 12-14mm ratchet and wrench set along with a 21-22mm wrench if I'm not mistaken for the rear O2 sensor. Or, if you have an O2 sensor socket, that would be even better.

Yeah, that's what everyone says. I did mine myself and had a seized downpipe nut. So, after a few hours of stripping the hell out of that I gave up, bolted everything back on (halfway) and drove to the shop. The guy had to use a pipe wrench and all his strength to get the nut off. Anyway, it ended up taking me about 6-7 hours and alot of worrying. So, do whatever makes you happy. $90 isn't alot of money. By the way, since then I've replaced my stromung downpipe with a Vishnu turboback by myself with no problems whatsoever. Good luck.

I had a similar problem. I simply couldn't get the bolts off to remove the dp from the turbo. I finally found a pipe to extend the wrench and cheated that way. After about 4 hrs, i finally had my turboback fully swapped out. It's a pain. It might be worth paying $90 to have a shop do it, however i do have more self satisfaction knowing that i did it myself. I hate to see what replacing the uppipe would be like.
