Exclamation Help!!! Boost Leak!!!

I'm running a TurboXS Stg. 2 setup with the TXS uppipe. Everything was fine, until I installed the uppipe a few weeks ago. Since I've installed the uppipe, I've found that I get a whistling sound any time I get around 7 lbs of boost, and my gauge indicates that I can't get over 13.8 psi. With the map I have now, I've had the car tuned in at around 16.5-17.0 pounds peak, and I'm getting NOWHERE near that. 3rd and 4th gear BOTH don't go any higher than 13.8lbs.

Today, I got the car on a lift, loosened everything, and tightened it all back up. I STILL have the problem.

Does anyone have some help for me? I can't help but wonder if my problem is actually a leak in the intercooler plumbing. It just doesn't make sense to me that the leak is only heard around 7psi & above. If the uppipe was leaking, wouldn't I hear that at least in the higher RPM's, whether I'm on boost or not? TIA for any help!

did you change all the gaskets when you replaced thee up pipe?

if you didnt you should replace all the gaskets, and then make sure you tourque all the bolts evenly, like you would a wheel. you will only notice it on boost, its such a small leak that it requires a decent amount of pressure to make it leak.

No, I didn't replace the gaskets. The reason being, many people I have talked to, including the guy who installed mine, have had great success without changing them. In fact, he has done 7 uppipes, and the owners didn't have new gaskets for any of them.

I did tighten all the bolts evenly, taking very careful notice on this 2nd time of tightening.

just curious what system are you using? The access port i know takes time learning before it hits maximum boost.

If you were using a mbc though i'd be worried

If you had a leak all you should have to do is put your hand around the exhaust joints when idling and feel for spurts of air. It should be pretty obvious and you should hear leaks. I am not sure about high rpm checks.

just a thought or two

You may want to try a different uppipe. One that has a flex joint. I had a buddy use the TurboXS uppipe and he had the same problem, ended up gutting a stock one and now his car operates fine.
